Emergency in Burma Worsens

I have just returned from sailing in the Caribbean only to find out that the situation in Burma from the recent devastating cyclone that hit there is much worse than originally reported. Meanwhile, the military junta in Burma is still not allowing aid workers into the country to help those in desperate need. And China is again blocking the UN from taking action. Meanwhile, over 100,000 people may die as a result of the military junta's callousness and self-serving ways.

However, I do know of one organization with close ties to Spirit Rock Meditation Center where I work that is getting aid into the country already because they are long-established there and have Burmese citizens working for them. Please consider donating to this organization, which is called Foundation for the People of Burma. Every dollar counts in a crisis like this, and this organization truly has an excellent track record for getting help directly to the people inside Burma who need it the most--and NOT the greedy military regime who will horde whatever they can. I can't believe the rest of the world continues to sit by and let them get away with such obvious atrocities.
